NARS Loose Powder in Eden Review, Photos, and Swatches

Published February 23, 2014 by Nikki

I bought this loose powder in a whim; wasn’t really supposed to get it but the Sales Attendant in the NARS counter in Hong Kong said that I’ll qualify for their ongoing promo if I purchase two products for the complexion (I intended to buy the Sheer Glow foundation only). I was supposed to get a free 15 ml NARS Tinted Moisturizer only to find out that she placed only a measly 5 ml sample in my shopping bag. I was annoyed at that for a good month, until I got a full sized one.

Anyway, I’m glad I got this loose powder in Eden because I’ve been using it daily ever since! My setting powder used to be MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Medium Dark. That powder made my makeup thick and my skin oily in four hours, but I kept using it anyway. I didn’t look back ever since I started using NARS loose powder.

The powder is a tad light for my skin tone but it doesn’t really matter because it’s sheer. I think the lightness contributes to giving me a brightened complexion without being washed out or too grey-ish. When used to set my foundation, it makes my makeup look more flawless and natural. It doesn’t make the foundation cakey and helps control oil. I noticed after I switched to using NARS complexion products that my skin has been more glowy and radiant, and I never had oily skin problems or patchy foundations. It’s pretty awesome ❤ Even though I find NARS too expensive, it’s really really worth it. I regret not purchasing it early on because I was intimidated with the price.

For HKD 360.00 (P2,067), you get a lot of product at 35 grams. If you are not sure how much that product is, take THREE Mac Blot powders and combine them together. That’s how much product you get. I think this will last me a good two years as I only use this in the morning to set my makeup. All throughout the day, I use MAC Blot for touch-ups. The container of NARS Loose Powder isn’t very friendly. You also need to store it in an upright position so powder will not fly everywhere when you open it. It’s not travel friendly at all because it is quite bulky. It’s also prone to being opened and having powder all over your bag. People suggest transfering the powder in a more convenient case to take for travelling.

Overall, I really like this product and I don’t see myself purchasing any other setting powder in the near future. Except, maybe to try more NARS powders. I lurv NARS to bits ❤
