They are sooo close to each other and can be considered as dupes of the other. They differ slightly in shade as Mehr leans to a neutral pink with a litttttle hint of mauve while La Raffinee is more Mauve-y pink. Also Mehr tugs a bit when applied because of its matte consistency while La Raffinee applies smoothly because of its velvety finish. Don’t be fooled though, as La Raffinee is more drying than Mehr (I can’t fathom why). I suggest applying lip balm underneath.
MAC Party Parrot Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches
Published April 11, 2013 by NikkiI’ve wanted this for a year since it came out in the Iris Apfel collection. Sadly, it flew away to the hands of the ladies who went to its launch earlier than I did
Good thing it was repromoted in the MAC Strength collection a year after its first release. I think it was worth the wait
MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick – Sheer Mandarin, Blossom Culture, Zen Rose Review, Photos, Swatches
Published April 11, 2013 by NikkiIf you find lipsticks too thick and plain and lipglosses too sheer, sticky, and lacking ‘real’ colors, you may want to try MAC’s Sheen Supreme line. It offers semi-opaque coverage, perfect for a little casual and light lip colour that’s STILL fun and pretty.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Medium Dark Review and Photos
Published April 11, 2013 by NikkiMAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish Natural has everything a face powder needs to have and more – It’s finely milled, and baked to perfection. MAC also claims that it’s healthier and looks more natural on the skin (hence the name) compared to other pressed powders. It would have been great , except for that creamy feeling you get after puffing/swirling/buffing it on despite being in a powder form.
Benefit Greetings From Cabana Glama Review, Photos, Swatches
Published November 11, 2012 by NikkiLiving in a country where it’s sunny all year round gives me the right to go all bronzed up even during the Christmas season when people are supposed to go dark and plum. Since this kit has been on sale for the longest time on Benefit’s website, I decided to pre-order it for P1,200.
I’m so glad I did because the kit has everything you need from complexion to eyes, from lips to cheeks.
Sigma Essential Kit Review, Photos
Published November 11, 2012 by NikkiMy first set of brushes and very happy with it! I wanted MACs but my Adam won’t let me have it. He didn’t even agree to get this one but I bought it anyway. I’m tired of the scrawny mini garbage brush kit that doesn’t function properly as it should. I feel like they’re created as toys for 8-year-olds, not to mention the handles are small and pink.
I never really knew how much brushes can affect the overall look of the makeup. I was happy with just putting makeup using my fingers, but I had enough. Everyone in the YouTubeverse who has created a makeup tuturial is using brushes and I knew I need to too if I wanted a more polished look.
This kit has twelve professional brushes at a fraction of a price of MAC’s if you’re going to get the same number and type of brushes. Bought this online for P4,600 and that amount would prolly only give me 2 – 3 MAC brushes. I know MAC has better quality and shouldn’t be compared, but hey, as a beginner, do I really need to spend that much on high-end expensive brushes?
Anyway, onto my review.
Benefit Ticket to Glossytown Review, Photos, Swatches
Published November 11, 2012 by NikkiI never really liked lip glosses. I had few ones given to me before but I never used them because 1) my lips are pigmented and it feels like glosses accentuate it more and 2) I hate the sticky feeling. All of them just went down the trash bin or given away. I got this set as a giveaway in a fashion show I attended (I would have never bought this set because the price tag seems too much for glosses that I wouldn’t even use).
Anyway, these glosses seems like an improvement to what I had gotten used to. I don’t really love this kit, but I don’t hate it as much as I hated glosses before. I still wouldn’t use it on its own, but it works well with all of my lipsticks. It adds a bit of sheen and fullness to the lips when worn over lipstick and it lasts long and doesn’t give a sticky, warm feeling.
Benefit Watt’s Up! Highlighter Review and Photos
Published September 30, 2012 by NikkiBenefit describes this as their “soft focus highlighter turns on “watt” ya got with a delicate champagne glow that’s gorgeous. With a cream-to-powder finish…it’s a switch on “wow” for all complexions. You’ll adore the smooth applicator & luminous sheen.”
I got this mainly because a highlighter is something that I don’t have yet in my makeup kit. I actually didn’t know how this works, how it’s used etc., so I had to research if I really need it. When I saw how it makes the skin look good by making makeup look more natural, I knew I had to get this. I didn’t know which one to get at first, highbeam, moonbeam, girl meets pearl or this one. But according to reviews I read, the Watt’s Up is the best highlighter Benefit has to date.
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup Review, Photos, Swatches
Published September 30, 2012 by NikkiThis is definitely the liquid foundation that works for me. My first liquid foundie was Revlon’s ColorStay but didn’t like it very much because it was so thick and it stays on my skin like concrete. Those attributes are a must for others but not for me as I hate having to scrub my face at the end of the day just to remove it. It does offer perfect coverage and doesn’t cause oiliness, I just hated the chemicals that makes it stick like glue.
Anyway, onto my review of my Neutrogena foundie…
MAC Casual Colour Out For Fun Review, Photos, Swatches
Published September 30, 2012 by NikkiI decided not to get this before cause I thought I only need one pot (bought Keep it Casual, see previous posts) but I couldn’t sleep and kept on thinking about this orange pot @_@ It was out of stock for a while so I forgot about it but when I accidentally visited the Casual Colour page and saw that it was up, I didn’t have second thoughts and pre-ordered it immediately!
